Vacation Mode: Activated!

Let's be honest, summer is the season for slowing down, soaking up that sunshine, and making memories! It's not about stressing over the state of your home. But the truth is, there is nothing worse than coming back from a relaxing vacation only to be greeted by chaos, piles of laundry, or that mystery pile on the kitchen counter.....👀

The good news?

With little prep and a few simple shifts, you CAN make your home feel calm before you leave - and make returning home way less overwhelming. A win, win!

Here are 5 easy tips to help you stay clutter-free before and after your summer vacation:

  1. Set a "Departure Reset" Day

Pick one day before your trip to reset your space. And I'm not talking a full-blown deep clean, just enough to bring things back to baseline. Remember, this is where systems and habits really come into play! Clear surfaces, toss out any fridge items that won't survive while you're gone, and make the beds. You'll thank yourself the minute you walk back through the door.

Mindset shift: think of this as a reset not as a chore, but as as a way of setting the tone for the rest. You deserve to come home calm!

  1. Pack with Purpose

Use packing as an opportunity to practice mindful decision making. Stick with those versatile outfits you love and leave behind the "just in case" extras. Here's a bonus - you'll travel lighter and unpack faster when you get home! 😉

Tip: Packing cubes or zip pouches come in handy to stay organized while you travel. They keep your suitcase tidy and make repacking a breeze! Check out my favorites on my Amazon Storefront.

  1. Create a "Landing Zone" for your Return

Designate ONE spot in your home where everything (yes, everything!) from the trip will land when you walk in - laundry, souvenirs, toiletries, etc. This keeps the mess contained and make unpacking feel less overwhelming. Remember, organized life = smoother transitions.

  1. Unpack Within 24 Hours

I know, I know - you're tired! BUT, trust me on this one: getting it over with quickly helps you mentally move out of vacation mode and back into your daily routine. Plus, clutter doesn't have time to settle in.

These small habits make for a BIG mental reward!

  1. Keep the Summer Simplicity Going

Coming home from vacation can give you a chance to reflect: What didn't you miss while you were away? What can you let go of? Use that post-vacation clarity to donate items you don't need or simplify routines that feel heavy.

Sometimes a break - no matter how long or short - shows us just how much lighter life can be.

Your summer should feel spacious - not just on the calendar, but in your home and mind too. With little intention, you can create a space that supports rest, resets easily, and lets you fully enjoy the season you're in.

Here's to a clutter-free comeback! ✈️☀️
